Santomeri

  You can take off from Santomeri at an altitude of 520m, co-ordinates UTM 34S550717-4204858 and you can fly with West-Northwest winds, from spring till autumn.

 Santomeri is 40km from Patra. You can reach the village via the national motorway Patra-Pyrgos, which is on the left of the industrial zone. You pass the prison of St Stephan to get to the village. It is a bitumen road, except for the last 2 km from the intersection before the village to the take off area, where there is a dirt road in good condition.

 The take off area is across to a beautiful valley. It has a very good inclination where three parachutes can take off simultaneously. There are some rooms to let and a small tavern to eat in.

 The flight can take some time. It has the advantage of very good thermal currents across the big mountain crest with a fantastic view of west Peloponnese and the Ionian islands.

  A cross-country flight can be chosen: the pilot can take routes: to the southeast for Skaidovouni and then onto Erimantho-Helmo-Ziria and further on should he choose to. It is the perfect place for competitions and a lot have taken place in the past from the Paragliding Club of Patras.

 The longest flight in Grecce (Santomeri-Asprokampbos) has been achieved here.
