Panahaiko (Lower)

The lower take off point from Panahaiko is at an altitude of 1100 meters, co-ordinates UTM 34S 572780-4231154 and you can fly with Southwest-West and Northwest winds almost every day of the year.

It is 45 minutes from Patra. You pass Zastova and you turn left towards the Panahaiko shelter, where the dirt road begins. You then pass the abandoned sanatorium building and that is where the landing area is. Then you go up the mountain until you reach the take off area.

The take off ground has a panoramic view of the city of Patras and the Patraiko bay. The size of the area is big but it has a slight inclination.

The flight can take some time. One can choose a cross-country route: to Rio, Omblo, and the top of the Panahaiko mountain and from there on to Leondio, Rakita and Kalavrita...
